1st RIH Congress - Neuchâtel 2010:

Made in Switzerland: myths, functions, realities


The RIH committee will hold its first Congress in Neuchâtel, Switzerland, on 14-15 October 2010.
It offers excellent opportunities for scholars in history to present their work, exchange knowledge and views, and set their future research agenda.
Participants will address issues relative to the topic "Made in Switzerland: myths, functions, realities". The congress is expected to contribute to the following goals:

* Enhance the dialogue between different Swiss Universities as well as between historians and other social science researchers;

* Develop our network of young historians in Switzerland;

* Build better institutions for academic exchange.

Sessions will cover a wide range of issues and periods from antiquity to the present day.

The scientific committee is composed of Kristine Bruland (University of Geneva), Youssef Cassis (University of Geneva), Yann Decorzant (University of Geneva), Juan H. Flores (University of Geneva), Jean-Daniel Morerod (University of Neuchâtel), Serge Reuby (University of Neuchâtel), Nadège Sougy (University of Neuchâtel), Laurent Tissot (University of Neuchâtel), Patrick Verley (University of Geneva and University of Neuchâtel).
